Building Capacity for the Future at Southampton for Associated British Ports

Good progress is being made at Solent Gateway Ltd, Southampton, where Knights Brown is delivering new infrastructure for ABP, to support the storage and movement of vehicles arriving in the UK via the port.

Recent achievements include:

• Installation of new drainage systems across the site, including three rail crossings
• Majority of utility civils works completed, with M&E installations due to commence shortly
• Phase 2 earthworks underway with placement of OPC stabilised layers and Type 1 material
• Concrete pours commenced for the new HGV yard

The coming weeks will see the team focus on completing earthworks, surfacing, outfall chamber construction, M&E installations and landscaping.

We’re also proud to be supporting the next generation of construction professionals. Congratulations to Harvey and Jamie on passing their NVQ and thank you to all our apprentices and trainees currently contributing to the project.
