Gentian gives go-ahead for new mixed-use scheme at Buckmore Park, Petersfield

Work has begun on a new retail and industrial development at Gentian’s Petersfield site which sits next to the junction of the A3 and A272, with direct access to Petersfield Services.
The development will encompass a Starbucks drive-thru, Greggs café and a new industrial/R&D unit. All buildings have been designed to reduce their environmental impact and will benefit from a BREEAM excellent rating, meaning they have been designed to ensure they create a fully sustainable development, both during construction and throughout their life.
The scheme has been designed by local Petersfield architects, Re-Format. Mildren Construction have been appointed as principal contractor.
Gentian, who owns the site in a joint venture with Sunny Day Capital, anticipates the drive-thru and café will be open by February 2027 with the industrial building ready for occupation in March.

The 13,046 sqft high specification industrial building, known as Buckmore One, will sit adjacent to the drive-thru and café. It will benefit from 20 parking spaces and secure loading facilities in a superb, landscaped environment. The building is being marketed for let or sale via Lambert Smith Hampton and Vail Williams.
This new retail and industrial development forms part of the wider 20-acre site originally acquired by Gentian. Alongside it, Gentian owns land with planning approval for a 50,000 sqft urban logistics park of five warehouse units.
Several successful projects have already been delivered across the original wider site. In 2016 Gentian sold a parcel of land to a classic car storage specialist and in 2024 it sold a 16-acre residential site with planning consent for 85 homes to Dandara.
